put yourself in this sitution:
you're upset, pissed and confused. as usual, you'll talk to your friend about it. one night, you talked to your friend about it again. let's not call it whining. your friend would normally listen and give advice, and you would always feel better after that. then on this night, to your surprise, your friend finally flared up and your friend called you an idiot. your friend asked (which actually sounded like lecturing) you to stop thinking that you're some princess or barbie, and keeps telling you that this is reality. your friend even wanted to call you a brat.
now,
1) would you be upset to get such answers when you needed your friend the most? how would you feel?
2) how would you feel if your friend calls you an idiot? (it doesnt sound like he/she was joking)
3) how would you feel when during those times, you never thought of yourself as a princess or barbie? (oh well, though you would like to be)
4) how would you react and feel when your friend calls you a brat? isnt it implying that your parents brought you up badly?
so now, should you blame it all on your parents for bringing you up like a brat??
are you not disappointed?
